Empathy and Inclusion on Stage: Students Connect Through Service Learning

This past Tuesday, our tenth-grade students and 12th-grade volunteers from Fundación Juntos por la Inclusión Community Service attended a special performance of the play "AFTER THE SILENCE" at the Municipal Theater of Asunción.

This outing, part of the High School Service Learning Program, provided a powerful and moving experience. The play tells the story of a person living with both visual and hearing disabilities, and it serves as a meaningful invitation to reflect on the importance of inclusion, effective communication, and the fundamental right of every individual to fully participate in community life.

This activity deepened our students' understanding of empathy and social responsibility.

El martes pasado, nuestros estudiantes de décimo grado y voluntarios de duodécimo grado de la Fundación Juntos por la Inclusión, Servicio Comunitario, asistieron a una función especial de la obra "DESPUÉS DEL SILENCIO" en el Teatro Municipal de Asunción.

Esta salida, parte del Programa de Aprendizaje-Servicio para Secundaria, brindó una experiencia impactante y conmovedora. La obra narra la historia de una persona con discapacidad visual y auditiva, y sirve como una significativa invitación a reflexionar sobre la importancia de la inclusión, la comunicación efectiva y el derecho fundamental de cada persona a participar plenamente en la vida comunitaria.

Esta actividad profundizó la comprensión de nuestros estudiantes sobre la empatía y la responsabilidad social.
