Building good habits: the importance of being on time

Research shows that strong attendance leads to better academic results and greater success in school.

At ASA, we are actively addressing student tardiness each week and holding students accountable for being on time to school and to all their classes. Students who accumulate three or more unexcused tardies in a week will be expected to attend office hours or detention to make up for missed time. They have one week to complete this, and if they do not, they will be held from sports and other extracurricular activities until the time is made up.

You can support your child’s success by helping them wake up on time, leave the house promptly, and encouraging them to get to their classes on time. Consistent routines and support at home make a huge difference in building habits that lead to achievement and responsibility.

Las investigaciones demuestran que una buena asistencia se traduce en mejores resultados académicos y en un mayor aprovechamiento de la escuela.

En el ASA, estamos trabajando activamente cada semana para abordar las llegadas tardías de los estudiantes y hacer que los estudiantes sean responsables de llegar puntualmente a la escuela y a todas sus clases. Los estudiantes que acumulen tres o más llegadas tardías sin justificación durante una semana deberán asistir a horas de oficina o detención para recuperar el tiempo perdido. Tienen una semana para cumplir con esto, y si no lo hacen, se les restringirá la participación en deportes y otras actividades extracurriculares hasta que completen el tiempo correspondiente.

Ustedes pueden apoyar el éxito de sus hijos ayudándolos a levantarse a tiempo, salir de casa puntualmente y animándolos a llegar a sus clases a tiempo. Las rutinas consistentes y el apoyo en casa hacen una gran diferencia para construir hábitos que llevan al logro y la responsabilidad.
