A Love for Reading in Guaraní
From September 8–10, our school celebrated the Guaraní language with "Ñamoñe’ë aranduka Guaraníme" (Let's Read Books in Guaraní), an enriching initiative led by the Middle School Guaraní department. This special program was designed to encourage the use, understanding, and appreciation of the language while promoting a love for reading among our Elementary students.
This activity was a wonderful collaboration! Our 6th grade students took on the roles of mentors and readers, sharing captivating stories, legends, and literary texts in Guaraní with their younger peers. They visited the K5B and 4th-grade classrooms, leading engaging sessions filled with animated readings and lively discussions.
The young students listened attentively, observed the illustrated books, and eagerly participated with their own questions and comments. It was inspiring to see our older students guide the sessions with such patience and enthusiasm, creating a welcoming and fun environment for everyone to learn and connect through the Guaraní language.
Del 8 al 10 de setiembre, nuestro colegio celebró el guaraní con "Ñamoñe’ë aranduka Guaraníme" (Leamos libros en guaraní), una enriquecedora iniciativa liderada por el departamento de guaraní de secundaria. Este programa especial se diseñó para fomentar el uso, la comprensión y la apreciación del idioma, a la vez que fomenta el amor por la lectura entre nuestros estudiantes de primaria.
¡Esta actividad fue una colaboración maravillosa! Nuestros estudiantes de 6º grado asumieron el rol de mentores y lectores, compartiendo cautivadoras historias, leyendas y textos literarios en guaraní con sus compañeros más pequeños. Visitaron las aulas de K5B y 4º grado, donde dirigieron sesiones interesantes llenas de lecturas animadas y animados debates.
Los jóvenes estudiantes escucharon atentamente, observaron los libros ilustrados y participaron con entusiasmo con sus propias preguntas y comentarios. Fue inspirador ver a nuestros estudiantes mayores guiar las sesiones con tanta paciencia y entusiasmo, creando un ambiente acogedor y divertido para que todos aprendieran y conectaran a través del guaraní.
