High School Math

The ASA high school math department welcomes you. A distinguishing feature of our curriculum is that all students must complete math through calculus. We also offer AP Calculus at the AB and the BC level.

Our philosophy is that all students can learn, but that high school students are equally responsible for their learning. We provide context-embedded, relevant lessons as much as is realistically possible. We also require culminating projects in which students must apply the concepts and methods in an original format that is language-arts based.

The other pillar of our curriculum is technology. All high school students are required to own a recent-model graphing calculator and daily instruction includes its use. The department is also integrating computer technology more and more each year.
