The Intercolegial is a major sport tournament among 20 of the most prestigious high schools of Asunción, Paraguay. ASA hosts this tournament annually every first weekend of March. It usually lasts two weekends, rising to its climax on the last day when the finals are played. Students have the opportunity to compete in multiple disciplines: male and female soccer, basketball, volleyball, and female-only handball. |
| The Intercolegial is more than just a major sporting event. It is also a prominent social event in which the ASA family has the opportunity to open its doors to other families in the local area. A lot of emphasis is placed on proper public behavior and ASA students have the task of setting the examples for others which they successfully achieve year after year. |

ASA had teams competing in every category with the female soccer team finishing in first place. Their marvelous performance is to be congratulated. We recognize as well the effort put forth by all of ASA's other teams who played valiantly: Both the female and male basketballs teams ended up in second place, loosing very closely in the finals and the male soccer team ended up in fourth place.
Congratulations to all ASA athletes and the other schools as well!

| A special recognition goes to the senior class that, with a lot of effort, organized this year's Intercolegial. All ASA students, faculty, and the Athletic Department helped enormously. Without their help, the Intercolegial 2002 would not have been possible. With that said, you are invited to next year's Intercolegial. It is a unique experience you will not forget.
